We are finished painting the nursery! Here is a picture of Chris painting the nursery during phase 2. If any of you have painted these stripes you know that it is VERY labor intensive but there is a great pay off in the end. I will send more pics later of the finished product, we painted the same color green alternating stripes of matte and gloss paints - not blue and green (once complete you may not see the contrast via digital camera b/c it is very subtle). It looks great!
Mommy update: I went to see the OB on Tuesday July 31 and did not get the best report. My cervix is 70% effaced. This is not a huge deal but being that the cervix is like a door this is one of the first stages of labor. Being that I am only 32 weeks I do not need to be in ANY stage of labor. I am not dilated and the baby has not dropped, all of those things would need to happen prior to giving birth. Based upon numerous conversations effacing this early is not terribly uncommon and does not seem to be too serious, but I am also trying to remain optimistic and hear what I want to hear.
This week has been pretty busy, we have interviewed 2 doulas this week and 1 pediatrician. Both doulas were great and we will have a tough time deciding. We met with Dr. Anne Hawkins at Harpeth Pediatrics and she was WONDERFUL. She and her practice come very recommended by several mommies. The practice is very close to our house and also has Saturday hours, which I hope we never need.
This weekend is a big one, we are touring Centennial Women's Hospital and hopefully will have enough information to decide between there or Baptist Hospital. They are both GREAT birthing facilities, which is making this decision so hard. Also, I am having my first shower in Owensboro, hosted by my aunt Jackie and sisters. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. I am hoping when I return with gifts Chris will have the nursery complete so I can put things away and prepare for Emerson!
