Baptism

Emerson and McCall were baptized on Aug 23. It was a great service, beautiful day and lots of good memories with family! Here are some pics, this post is LONG overdue!

Happy 2nd Birthday Emerson

Happy 2nd Birthday Emerson now that you are 24 months old, I think we will start addressing your age by years rather than months! Although there are MANY MANY great things about you, I want to list 24 of them!

1. You are a BEAUTIFUL little girl and you have more than 24,000 ways to turn on your charm
2. You are a GREAT big sister
3. You are very smart and have a great vocabulary, including your newest word, one curse word - Nammit!
4. You have 20 teeth, they are very cute and you got them VERY early!
5. You love chicken tenders and pizza!
6. You have a fabulous sense of humor, love to make people laugh and love to laugh!
7. You are on my mind 24/7
8. I love you to the moon and back!
9. You have the cutest personality a 2 yr old can possibly have!
10. You will start potty training very soon
11. Your teachers always say very positive things about you!!
12. You love slides and swings! (liiiiide, Wiiiing)
13. You look adorable in your Monkey Halloween Costume
14. You have your Great Gramma's Middle name!
15. You look like your mommy but cuter!

20. You have tan lines on the insides of your legs where your little chub rolls lie and they are the cutest thing ever!

23. You have always loved to bounce and now you love the rocking horse that Granmollie got you for your 2nd Birthday! It replaced your zebra, but you have yet to notice!
24. You are very adored, appreciated, loved, your smile can brighten ANY room and you bring so much joy to our family!!

13 Weeks old

Here are McCall's 13 week pictures. I did a lot of cool things for Em in the beginning, then got busy and lost track of several milestones. I have decided rather trying to document everything then getting burnt out and overwhelmed, I am going to just do a few things and stick with it! Each week I take a picture of McCall in hopes that I can document a milestone and growth!! Because our computer has been inactive for the majority of the summer many pictures were not documented although they were taken!! Here is McCall trying out tummy time! She liked it but only briefly!

This summer has been the BEST summer that I can ever recall. Lots of good times, fun times and great memories!
This summer I have:
Given birth to a beautiful baby girl!
Changed more diapers in 13 weeks than I ever thought was possible
Walked with my running stroller over 100 miles!
Lost all my baby weight and managed to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes!
Prayed a dozen times each day that Chris' practice takes off so that I can live this life (at home with my girls)forever!
Enjoyed not working (for GSK)
Dreading going back to work!
Enjoyed the luxury of answering/returning calls at MY leisure!
Been up before the sun!
Watched many late night/early morning infomercials!
Washed/Sterilized close to 1000 bottles!
Had many prayers answered!
Clipped more coupons and saved more money than ever before!
Spent more money than ever before but I started saving a year ago for this summer!
Joined Stroller Strides and LOVE it!
Made friends with nearly everyone on my street!
Watched the school bus come and go!
Observed the foliage go from green to not so green!
Planted poseys, watched them wilt and planted Mums!
Sang more nursery rhymes than I ever thought I could!
Wiped more tears, wiped more snot, listened to more whining and crying than ever before!
Heard the word no but pronounced NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNO a dozen times each day!
Loved more than I ever thought was possible!
Been to the zoo 3 times
Learned that I really do not need 8+ hours of sleep!
Witnessed the baptism of my girls
Been to teh winery a few times and have yet to enjoy an entire glass of wine!
Figured out how to find kid shows on demand 24/7!
Been amazed by the constant development of my girls!
Ordered my Christmas Cards!
Learned to make hairbows - a must for a mom of 2 demure southern belles!
Thanked God a million times for all my blessings!

latest Developments

Bedtime remains an issue around here and it is only getting worse. McCall - the infant is the good sleeper. Em, on the other hand is the night owl!! When we transitioned her into her big girl bed we put up a gate outside her bedroom door to keep her inside her room rather than wandering around the house. A few nights ago, my bedroom door flew open and I heard "Eye" (Hi)! Confused and 1/2 a sleep I went to her bedroom and noticed that the gate was still intact! She had climbed it!!! She has done this every night since. She is up with us until we go to sleep - some nights that can be as late as midnight and she still wakes up at 5:30 - 6:00 am!!

Em will be 2 on Sept 23 and we will start potty training very soon after. On Sept 21 she moves up to a new class, Preschool 1!

I go back to work on Sept 21 and McCall starts daycare. Since she was born I have only been away from her once and it was only for 6 hours.

McCall continues to be a GREAT baby! She sleeps, eats and is very happy! One thing that is bizarre to me is that she does not like her car seat!!
