Diversity Days II

Last week at school Emerson learned all about the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Ox. To celebrate they made masks.

Today we re-visited the Chinese new year and proudly displayed the mask again!

During the educational portion (at school) Ms Anjulie said that Emerson and 1 other student were the only ones that would wear their masks! Em will do anything she is told to do at school, she is the teacher's pet. During "circle time" she always sits right on top of the teacher and mimics her every move. One day I want to come watch, I am sure it would be a treat.

When I was younger I too was the star pupil in Ms Cindy's home school classroom most likely because there were only 2 of us and a few stuffed animals! I was the 1 human that would not stand up or challenge Ms Cindy because I was a afraid of the consequences!

For those of you that do not know, Cindy's is my older sister (I was not home schooled, well at least not beyond age 4) and she was VERY serious about her classroom, curriculum and conduct. Ironically she followed her childhood dream - she majored in Elementary Education then went on to pursue a career in speech pathology! Now she analyzes my child making sure that her speech is not delayed but if you know me, you know my child WILL NOT be speech delayed! Should she ever have delays it will NOT be verbally!
